Today we preview the Panthers offensive line which at this point in the season is really hard to determine how this unit will stack up. Last's starting line featured two players currently on NFL rosters in Otis Hudson with the Cincinnati Bengals and Chris Campbell with the Green Bay Packers. Throw in Chaz Millard a three-time All-American who is now coaching at Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Ark., and you have a pretty solid crew.
Returning from last year are left guard Eric Zink, now a two-year starter, and Willie Henderson. Henderson is a preseason All-OVC selection who started at right guard last year and will move back to his natural position of center this season.
Behind them are all newcomers to the starting mix. The tackle battle right now is taking place between Kevin Kapellas, Ryan Grossman and Dominic Pagilara. Pagilara is listed as the possible back up at both tackle spots.
The right guard battle is between Mike Garrity a transfer from Illinois and redshirt freshman Alex Pierce. The only two other players listed on the current offensive line depth chart are Mike O'Neill at center and Collin Seibert as a back-up at tackle.
Turning our attention from the offensive line to food. Next Wednesday - Sept. 1, EIU kicks off its football coaches luncheons at a new location - Two Flowers Restaurant - located in the Worthington Inn in Charleston. Luncheons start at Noon and the buffet lunch costs $8 per person.
On other food notes we are now just 10 days away from kick off in Iowa City. We did a quick search of food joints in Iowa City and found a stop we just might have to make - Shorts Burger and Shine.
