On a Friday full of Eastern Illinois action the couple of wins for the Panther sports teams came at home as both women's soccer and men's cross country won their matches.
The EIU women's soccer team won 1-0 in the final minute on a penalty kick by Kristin Germann marking the second time this season that the sophomore has knocked home a game winner via penalty kick.
The EIU men's cross country team had a strong showing winning the EIU Panther Invite in both overall and double dual scoring. Junior Matt Feldhake was the overall men's event winner.
The EIU women's cross country team also posted a strong effort with sophomore Olivia Klaus placing fourth overall. The women placed second in overall scoring and only lost in double dual scoring to North Dakota.
The EIU men's soccer team suffered an overtime defeat at IPFW which will become a conference foe for the Panthers next season when EIU joins The Summit League in soccer.
Volleyball suffered a loss in opening day action at the Michigan State Tourney. EIU will face Michigan State and Clemson on Saturday.

Tomorrow will be a big day at O'Brien Field as the Panthers will play their home opener in football against Central Arkansas at 1:30 pm.
